Newest Easter Egg: Codename: Jeffrey Yu’s Steins Gate Scroll Found on a fake wall lamp on the very top of the inside of statue island. Can only grab the scroll out of the lamp when launched into space by tornado. Placing the scroll into a whiteboard shows text that forms the steins gate future gadget lab logo. Reading it you will see a number called the world line value that is calculated based on your loop count (has no real meaning was just a way to learn about ciphers according to Jeff). taking the scroll into the ATP’s black hole will duplicate it. If you head back to ATP you will see the scroll on the ground with the banana melted.

So are you going to include the information learned from the DLC in another video/

Not sure if this counts as an Easter egg, but at the end vision you give to the Prisoner, there is a harmonica playing for a short while whenever it shows the Nomai arriving to Dark Bramble as a nod towards Feldspar

A little known fact is that the playable hearthian was actually referred to as a female in early development. In the paper, ”Outer Wilds - A Game of Curiosity Driven Space Exploration” by Alex Beachum, the initial developer of Outer Wilds, he mentions it somewhere. Don’t remember where, but somewhere he said ”her” or ”she” when referring to the playable character.

The sun station failed at resetting time but maybe it accelerated the death of the sun by sucking out sun power

If you stay in the vessel at the end of the game when your solar system is about to explode you can see The Stranger in the distance floating away until it is shrouded in darkness.

Another interesting detail about this is that if you make a copy of yourself but still make it to the eye of the universe before the sun is destroyed the rule for cause and effect will be broken! Since the eye of the universe is Quantum!

A thing I didn't got it It's explained that only the canon probe was linked with the ATP, but how does this work from the perspective of the Nomai? For the canon launch 9 million times it's necessary the supernova to power the ATP, but with the supernova the Nomai were going to die This part is so confusing and abstract for my brain

We do know what method of propulsion the stranger has. It’s green so it’s probably the same technology the rafts use when you shine light on them. It’s a solar sail.

My rules of thumb about when to slow down when approaching a planet : I make my speed about 1/10 of my distance. when I'm between 2000 and 7000 m from the planet. If I'm further away, I need to brake earlier than 1/10 of the distance (at 10km, 1000m/s is too fast), but at less than 2000m and 200m/s, I can just eyeball it and stop looking at the numbers.

That's cool, but what is the bug you're talking about ? I mean how do you trigger it ? because I only see the consequences in the video, not what is the bug that allow those. Is it in an other video ?

Imagine if, instead of the final image with the aliens around the fire, it showed "13.7 billion years later" with a picture of Earth and humans around a fire. That would really drive home the message that we, the players, also have a role in this universe. Plus, it would add a cool twist, making Outer Wilds feel like it's part of "real life" canon. Also, great analysis!

I think the formation of ash twin is also how ember twin lost its water, a giant ball of sand probably crashed into ember twin and swept away the weakened rock formation we see on ash twin today, the collision would also blast away the water or make it evaporate. The sand would probably be absorbed by the ember twin, but the rock formation that remained would be put back together, forming ash twin. The sand transfer would later begin. This would also prove that Ember twin might be able to have water again, specifically in the north lakebed where chert’s camp is, seeing that trees are able to grow on the pillar of rock that chert is on, it would also be possible for there to be a lake, all the way at the bottom. This lake would most likely not last long because of the sand transfer, so if we somehow remove all the sand or maybe even make it an entire planet (or make a massive glass production factory), we could take some of the ice crystals from the Atlerock, north crater on TH, or the ones of dark bramble, and put it in there to let it melt into a lake. This could make Ember Twin the second home of the hearthians. Or we could just live in brittle hollow if it doesn’t start to die and maybe find a way to end Lantern’s wrath either by destroying the volcanoes or do an Oppenheimer on the hostile world, destroying it entirely.

From my understanding, there is a 100 million project utilizing solar sails where it is hypothesized that it would be able to travel (maximum velocity ) 20 percent the speed of light. So, it isn't too far-fetched to say that solar sails can be utilized effectively. Also, on another note ( sorry off topic ), I don't know if this has already been discussed but I think the color of the robes that the owlks wear symbolizes age.

The one big issue with the white hole station is it assumes whoever falls through the black hole is already wearing a space suit XD

if the next universe only has life if the hearthian met solanum, doesnt that mean that if the hearthian didnt met solanumn the next universe will be the last one because no one can enter the eye to create a new one upon its end?

my thought with the scout always was that maybe because the scout entered the eye it took part in creation of the universe (like how having solanumn and the prisoner participate changes it a bit too) that that causes scout like beings to be naturally occuring, like birds

When you explained how you were yourself, and then a tree, and then a campfire, and that campfire birthed the new universe, I cried. I actually physically cried. I didnt make that connection and it increases the impact of the game so much. Thank you for this video. Its as much a work of art as the game itself

I was thinking about it. The Hearthians, if they'd had a long enough timeline, might have outdone the other two. They were figuring out Nomai tech and repurposing it, without even being able to understand the language. They figured it out from trial and error and hard won understanding.

Wouldnt it be a riot if the coordinates didntbwork because the eye being a quantum object doesnt stay in the same super position withou being observed?

While I was playing for the first time, I really thought the phantom matter in the comet was the cause of the Sun exploding. Then I got into the Solar station, then into the Ash Twin project, and then I simply accepted the Sun was dying out of natural causes. By the way, something to think about. If you don't stop the Ash Twin Project, but get far from the Supernova, like escaping the Solar system or going to the Quantum moon, your "death" is to go back to the beggining while seeing some blue lines, not because you died, but because the Ash twin project activated and sent your present memories to the past. Your real body probably is living as it can just as you could see if you turn off the time travel to get some endings, but your soul, if it can be called like that, remains in the younger body with the actual memories. Is kinda somwthing explained in Soma, another game who makes you reconsider your life.

A nerd comment from an evolutianary biologist: If the species in question (the hearthians) eat a relative fish that is alive, then they're not eating their ancestors. They're eating a contemporary species of them that may relate in morphology to a common ancestor of both species. The concept 'ancestors' can only be applied to species of the past, not the present, there's no such thing as 'living ancestors' but 'living relatives with a common ancestor in the past'.

Okay but whats the point from a game standpoint? I mean we cannot "collect" them. We can only carry one at a time. Is the point to bring a stone from someplace you want to watch then fly somewhere else. Use the stone to see "progress" elsewhere?

I'd say the nomai got the ATP to work, they just didnt have the time to tweak the sun station in order to power it. If ATP didnt work, we wouldnt have a time loop. The nomai were all killed before finishing touches were made, i have faith that they absolutely would have succeeded, but the interloper stopped their progress in its tracks

I think it's clear that the nomai are more conventionally advanced, while owlks are the way more of a natural view into what a super advanced ALIEN species would be like, imo
